Encountering the Double – facing the dark side of oneself as a path of initiation

The on-going confrontation with the lower parts of oneself is a test and a challenge of every day. Facing it is not pretty; avoiding it is destructive. In ordinary personal, inter-personal, social and vocational life we rush into the threshold of our darker side with no preparation. Yet these are opportunities, mostly missed, for personal and social transformation and healing.  Anthroposophy provides a language, a philosophical framework and a spiritual context for threshold work.
